 Hello, there world!  I am here today to talk about my commercial video! The whole commercial was fun to making and my group had an amazing time on making this video. My favorite part of the entire experience was editing, as to filming. I love the whole experience of making commercials, it gave me on what companies do to make the shorts. Researching was an amazing part of the project me as I loved to look up and wonder about the world.

PEER REVIWE

 Hi guys and today will be talking about my peer review. I peer review Group 16 and their work. Their movie was amazing and told an amazing story of horror about two girls getting murdered by one of the girl twin, which was a huge plot twist to me. The movie was exactly two minutes and all of the transitions to the movie were nice and clean. Their movie opening had amazing lighting but the first scene, in the beginning, need a little bit of lighting. The sound in the movie was a little off-ish as I couldn't hear the phone talk but, anything else the sound quality was good. The titles in the movie wasn't present,but if they were they must be really hard to read cause I couldn't read them. I wis they was present cause it would have made the movie cooler. The movie had most of the required elements, like an establishing shot within the few seconds of the film and an over the shoulder shot of at 1:45 of the film. It also had close 28 seconds into the film, medium shot and tilt at 32 secs into the film, a long shot 48 seconds into. 40 seconds into the film there is a pan shot. The diegetic sound in the film started at 57 seconds and the non-diegetic sound starts at 1:10 into the film. The film, however, was amazing and I love the huge plot twist they added to the film makes me wonder what happens next in the film. But the one dislikes there is it the film for me is that in the scene where she stuffs the dead bodies in her car you see the license plate, I would wish they blurred that. But it has a nice tone and everything.See you guys soon :).

Editing time(hint of filming)

Hello guys and if you haven't read the title today is editing day/filming rest of the opening day. Today was sort of hard work of finding an editor compatible with my laptop which isn't up to the latest tech out there. But I finally found one WeVideo, even though it's a huge downfall is that huge watermark, but it special and gets the work done. I tried to film today some scenes but sadly couldn't since I had so much makeup work for a class 😫. But the start of editing been going well. I have some parts of the first scene done. Like the typing scene, when I heard the typing noise I made for the film it was low, so I went and used some Shutterstock sound of typing to make it work. Finding a black screen was also hard but I managed with the power of google search.Well their wasn't a lot on my edition with a hint of filming journey but I hope you like it:).

Filming blog

Hello guys and today i'll be talking about my filming day featuring my sister Jadline Calixte:). On Saturday in the late afternoon, my and my sister filmed at our grandmother's house, as that was the emergency plan. We managed to film one scene the entire time since i forgot the charger for the camera.But even filming that one scene to took so much work, it tired us out.But we manged. The filming of the first scene took work since my sister was filming me and since she a litlle shorter than me.We had thought that we needed makeup so we put it on me only to find we didn’t need it the whole time.We has our cousin help she took some photos for us. It was fun experience for me and my sister, since I got to teach her a few things about filming.

FILMING DAY

Today ill talk about my non-existing filming days, where i couldn't film due to a situation happening in my life.  So let start :). Day one of no filming was just me trying to figure out how to film. Talking to my sister to see her in vision and mine to come together and make the film work.We been discussing about the film’s Cinematic appearance and how not to make it look like a high school film or a middle school film.

Shooting SCRIpt-planning

 

  Hello guys and today I'll be talking about my script and describe the scenes. Well to start, the movie is in the middle of things saying in one of the scenes you can see a text message saying really? in capital letters. You also hear (see sound and dialogue blog) the sound of arguing of her parents and glass breaking. In the first scene you hear typing as well but to edit, you might hear a little background noise of the parents arguing and make lot of noise .

Planning blog-Location,sound,participtants

The location of where I will be filming, I couldn't find a picture, however, it will be 100% safe to film over there. As well as the idea of heath since wear dealing with skincare and makeup products that we will follow what the bottle says about applying the makeup and skincare item and if applied incorrectly, my sister on the scene will go and call poison control for instructions on how to remove/ clear of the product. I have 9ll on speed dial for any injuries having on the scene. I'll call my parents or my actress can call her parents and for any questions. My emergency schedule would be to film at my aunt's house and my sister would take the place of the actor. I Reshoot some of the scenes to see which one ill like the most of the most fitting. Update: My actress would not be able to film because her parentals say so. So I will film and be the actor in my film, and my Jadline would help me film. We will follow our emergency plan. We film at my aunt's house, follow the emergency procedure of anything. Well call 911 for urgent and if someone gets injured my amount will take them to the urgent care. Same goes along for the makeup in which if we apply a product wrong or something happens with the product irritating skin or a breakout happens etc, we will call poison control. The schedule will go as follow, nothing changes there.

Title Time-planing

Today ill talk about the titles for my opening!:)

 For the font I'll use a free website that lets us create fonts and edit other fonts that are created. It's called https://fontstruct.com/.The spacing in the fonts will be normal letter spacing. The titles will pop up on the screen and then disappear with a little brush. It will appear on the screen for about 3-5 seconds and then disappears. The spacing of the letters will be about wide apart but not too wide. As well as the tracking of the letters isn't that huge either. The working title I kinda mess up since it was supposed to be me and my sister coming up with the title, not just me which is why in the presentation is like that. The working title that we came up with is"BeautyBehindMadness".I think its a perfect it title since it goes well with the film, not just the opening.UPDATE: Me and Jadline had agreed that the title of the film would be “Beautiy behind prints”.  The name in the title is based on actual story of my and Pringle’s chips.

Storyboard

Today’s I will talk about the storyboard and the scenes in the film hope you in joy.!

So she is getting ready to make a video and she is look at her laptop and then she sees something and then tans to the door then she goes bake on what she was doing and she picks up her camera and  check the camera she check and check till a text come and more and then she try’s to ignore while she continues she goes and fix her camera on the stand she try’s again getting it to stand right then she looks for makeup to up on her and when she finds it she pick it up and goes to the bathroom she gets out of the room and she goes to the bathroom and she goes inside and she does her makeup then she get out and goes back to her room as she goes back she gets everything ready and then she starts to talk. PS:Everything is made in the room  

Hello people and here we are before the fairly big day, filming! Those pictures are my storyboard and the really entire movie opening. This would literally not for the most part be edited or changed because I kind of put it in as the final decision for the opening. Most of the scenes for all intents and purposes are Point of view shots because I want to for all intents and purposes get the perspective of the girl and her life, which generally is fairly significant. Finally, all the scenes in the film will be shot on two weekends.

Dialogue/sound-PLanning time

  

My dialogue and sound script. It what I have so far and there will be changes to the script as I get a good grip on the story. Most of the sound in the scenes is diegetic and ambient, however, there is background music as well as a score for the whole movie. (The

 background song is just  one of many songs in the soundtrack.). In order to do some of the sounds of the opening, I'll play sound from youtube in the background Or if my editing skills are good enough ill try to go and edit the noise as background noise. The dialogue isn't as much but will be edited as I go along the project. Most of the dialogue is spoken by the girl, some background of her parents arguing. I personally believe I didn't add enough 

''talk'' in the script but I did what I could. Like I said ill probably add more dialogue, most likely when I start to the storyboard. Music I try to find a free song that will get the ''persona'' or feel of the opening. It's kinda hard since most of the music I found might be copyrighted and that something I don't want happening. Title research- WEBSite pt 2

Part two here we go! Today i talk about Watch the titles website which i found cool :).

The website give title sequences on movies, TV shows ,interviews and and special known as French Fridays, which feature french TV and film. It also feature student films and video games openings.When opening the website you see the a slide of opening sequences. when clicking on title sequences, you see every opening. However their a drop down you see film openings on those categories :TV shows, Feature films, Event Titles, Student films, Video games, French Fridays. When clicking on the designer tab, you see a list of designers and their studious they had work in. When clicking the studios tab you see a list of studios and their works. If you hover over the titles of the work , leads to a link of a video of the opening. The feature films don't have much but its something of common films or short films.When clicking on the one of the videos, let say its Juno, you see the video, which you can click on and watch the video. Under the video is the information on the opening and a interview with the creators of the opening and how they created it. It also has links about the movie.You can also leave comments on the page about anything on the opening.

Another day, another research. Yep that right, today i lookup movie opening titles and share what i learned with you guys :).

The website Art of the Title show movies and shows openings and their title sequences. It has most shows and movies openings, like Good Omens and Night of the Demon. At the end of year, as you can see in the picture, the wind up all the top openings and title sequences.It also has articles on the sequences and how they were created and who created them.  The website has articles on the sequences creators on the openings. Art of the title also gives information on studios who they know works in the studios. It also gives on their biggest project opening . It list those studios in grid view or list mode. It also list tons of designers and which studio they work for. It also show the designers accomplishments and what they work in. When watching the film opening and sequences under the video on the studios and the people who created the opening.  For example , The Black Panther it list the studio,principles,founders,senior producer,s design supervisor,lead animator and so many more people. It also list styles it created,like with CGI or animation. Some might show information on the project it self and the opening. Some might show the music in the opening sequence.

in order to know more about my genre, Teen drama, i decided to watch a few movies in the genre to get a nice broad aspects of camera angels, movement and shots as well as editing and of course clamps.

Genre desison

So with all my research on dramas, comedies and musicals, I finally choose a genre for my project. It was hard to choose, since these genres often clash with each other so many times. But i choose this genre cause of its many aspects, like it relatable to its targeted audience and its topic would be fun to film. I choose teen drama because it relates to my topic and that my topic relates to the genre. Plus, filming a teen drama would be fun to do since most of teen dramas i seen look fun and easy to film. Teen drama is a mix of teen and drama, like “The edge of seventeen”. So i can not wait to  use the genre i choose for my project.

Genre Research- Drama and Comedy

Today I will talk about two genres, and their main aspects of films in the category.Drama films sound as it is: drama. It’s usually about two or more people and their lives or about problems and trying find solutions. For example, coming of ages movie can fall into the drama cause it deals with the protagonist dealing with two or more problems and then solving it out. Comedy films have aspects that it’s gives relatable content to its viewers who find it funny. Plus it gives something that what people find funny these days into a film.Today I"ll talk about two genres and what i think about them,their camera angles,movement,and shots in list format so be prepared.
 CAMERAS: In dramas, camara movement include close ups, long shots, high anlge shots/birds eye view, over the shoulder shot medium shot, and extreme close ups.
COSTUMES: In most dramas,costumes are consited on designer brands clothing, or what most people wear; jeans, a t-shirt with a pair of sneakers. some drama are from certain time periods, example a drama from the 50s would be what people wore in the 50s .

ACTORS: Actors and Actresses in dramas normally depend on how they see fit. For example,In Dunkirk, Actor Cillian Murphy fits perfectly in the movie because he fits well with period drama.
PROPS: Props used in dramas usually depend on the type of drama. For example in Titanic, there was the use of papers as passports to get in the ship.
SETTING: Setting in dramas are normally realistic places,For examples in Hidden Figures the setting takes place in Florida because of its location in NASA.
CAMERAS:The main camara angles, movement, and shots are The Push (Way Too Far) In,The Pull (Way Too Far) Out,The Wait for It,The Reveal,The Comparison Shot,The Quick Zoom,The Perspective Shot,The “Look Over There!”.
COSTUMES: Costumes in comedies normally depend on the topic.For example, in "Hitchhiker guide to the galaxy" there was many costumes to show off the creatures i the movie
LIGHTING: Lighting in comedies is usually depend on the joke,but most comedies uses high-key lighting and natural lighting.
ACTING: Comedies usually uses comedians in there films example Kevin Hart, Eddie Murphy, Tiffany Haddish.
MAKEUP: Makeup in comedies are basically natural looks Or depending on the idea, Like in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, where the used extreme makeup to show of the monsters.
PROPS: Props in comedies usually depend on the topic.

Genre research- Power presentation

 My power point presentation is about a genre known as musicals. Musicals are performed or filmed, usually targeted at children and young adults. Musical main elements are Acting, Singing, Music and lighting.Musicals have a romantic aspects, where the main character  falls in love and normally confess there love through out song. The choreography in Musicals can be challenging ,like Lion king, or simple, like High school Musical. Most Musicals,like The greatest Showmen., have comeback songs to show that the characters fight. Some however my be a consistent of sad songs.

So if you read my last blog then you know i have three movie ideas .Well I'm here to talk about two of my pitches, and maybe decide on my final pitch for my movie! So here the first pitch which is about a girl and her life in the beauty community and her past coming back to her as a controversial  video of her resurfaced and change on how she viewed in the internet and reality. Her video reflects on her past with her mom being abusive,emotional and physical ,and her life in high school example, dealing with bullies etc. She find as doing make-up her only comfort and away to be like by others in school, but goes with the topic of beautiful on social media and how toxic it is today for girls and boys. It also helps with the idea of craving attention and doing anything for it.
   My second pitch is about  guy tries to deal with their social media life persona while having breast cancer. He life goes upside down when he founds out he has breast cancer, but tries to hide it from the internet and confines it. Over time his secret get release from a friend who wanted clout. The idea is having a double life from the internet and reality and trying to keep the two apart from each other. It  also goes with the idea of breast cancer, since it portrayed that women gets breast cancer, not men, which is toxic masculine.
     The final Pitch i choose is the one about the girl and being apart of the beauty community because it will expose the ideals of the community and how it works. It will also show how our past comes back to haunt us. I think it would be easy to film this, plus it would be fun to do makeup videos. I think  the idea could use a Little work but it will pay off.

the start of the finish

Hey it's me again! Nerlande, your freshman high school student. Lots has happened since i last introduce myself to you guys. For instance, i filmed a commercial and music video! I know exciting right?  I recently have been in a huge roller coaster on my housing situation, but everything good so far,and of course Christmas been exciting with my family going out to the arcade and having fun with the dance games there.  My four Kittens and cat decide to leave the nest,well except the two Golden brown ones, named DJ and Mj, wanted to stay and enjoy the luxury of belly rubs and warm milk. Plus my grandmother recently came from Haiti, and boy is she glad to enjoy what Florida has to offer. I cant wait for my new project shooting a movie opening sound great! Gotta use from what i learned in my last two projects, like how to use the camera and how not to be forgetful. Plus how to edit films, which i'm still not so good at, but try oh so hard to make films look so good( even though i didn't edit the last two projects i done editing with other things like Instagram videos). Filming the ideas i have might be hard but worth it. Can't wait to put some of my editing skills in to use and my directing skills.
    You guys probably wondering what my pitch ,or what a pitch is? Well a pitch is a Hollywood term describing an movie idea in 25 words or less in one whole sentence.I told my self it was impossible, but here i am trying to gather my ideas and drop them here. Here the first:The life of a girl being in the beauty community and her past coming back to her after a video of her speaking about a sensitive topic surfaces.Or this: A girl/guy tells their high school life through poem.Finally this one: A girls tries to deal with her social media life persona while having breast cancer. The last relates to me on a personal level since i had a family member who died from cancer.
