Editing(and filming pt.2) blog

Today was second and last part of filming. Me and my group went out out to film and re film a few scenes. Starting with filming the scene where she climbs up the stairs, with a piece of paper in her hand. I did the filming, and then move on the next scenes, with pan/over the shoulder shot of our location, the media center. Then we shot a few sences of our star, walking around. While discussing the film I film a spooky pumpkin flier on the wall. Then we filmed a POV shot of the star receiving a box of vans(the whole idea was about vans).next we film her walking down the stairs and then  meeting up with her friends and showing of her new shoes. Afterword, we gave the camera and tripod to the teacher and begin editing.

Before editing out, we remove the SD card, which is minimal, and place it in the sd card reader, which looks like a flash drive. Siging in the desktop, e began to do dump. Placing the footage of our commercial on the computer, and just in case, on a flash drive a well. We had to wait for awhile for the footage to go on the drive so while we waited I type out my blog. When the wait was over we were about to edit until the teacher told us the software, pinncle studios wasn't working.so we sat here and laugh at our footage.when the bell ring, we took out the SD card from the reader and then, put it back in the camera. Then giving the teacher the reader and card. And waling to my next class.

Working on this was extravagant, and awesome. It let my creativity flow out and explore options. Plus it taught on how commercials worked out and the extreme hard work the directors, actors, producers and so much more people who work on commercial. Funny on how my group work on a commercial in less than a mouth, but it takes months for the grownups, SMH should have known.I don't know what to do yep next so I'm telling you a story about my cat, meme. She a nice calico cat who enjoys belly rubs. She had nine kittens, not in one litter thought. One out of the first litter sadly dies. We couldn't take care of most of them, so we gave a way to a shelter. I still miss some of those kitten jumping up and down on the couch.

What i did during the filming session

Filming the blog was great, and a lot of work.Almost was late to schools buying fake spideirs. To start off the filming,we set up the scenery. the  we set up the camera, which took a lot of running around to find the backboard for the tripod and the camera. Connecting the backboard to the camera and then to the tripod. Trying on a few things for instance, zooming in and out and panning.

Ok we begin with the first scene, the background.panning over the senior patio and getting a good lok where the first few sceces will be. Now when film the star, who sad, loney and sleep deprived.i tirsd not to zoom in her face.next we shot the scance of a hooded figure sliding something to the sad star. i had to zoom in on her jacket to see the logo on the hoodie. filming thr next scence kinda mde me laugh.we had to go ahead and to ake it look like she ran away. so we put  star # 2 behid the camera and to stomp.

Editing lesson blog

Today i learn about how to chrack out cameras,a nd how to use them. When you firts have to get a permisson form to fill out. yout put thee folling information:Item number. Then you put in the period folder, for me Period 6. Using the camera easy, like when holding the camera you use a strap, or to keep a camera in place you use a tripod. Thr tripod keeps the camera in place, but you can stiil mov eit by using the stick attach to it.You can move it up and down, and left or right.

So to start filling you check out  the following items: camera, tripod, SD card and reader. You film all the shots or scences you need for you video. Remember to put you sd card in the camera ,so when you edit you can remove those shots(or scences) from the camera. Then you start filming. After filiming Remove sd card and place it in the reader, then you place in the usb slot. Create folder naming what ever  you wish.Put all shots in the folder, sso it kkeps it in place. then remove the sd reader.

Now start editing.you open pincale software studios, and the you opne a new file. you hae to let everything load or it might crash bad. when you plug in you sd card, search for the footage  in DCIM.if not found in that folder, look in AVCHD.You doulble click on an image to go full screen,I belive you get a better view like that.To cut out anything you dont need, just click on the razor blade, highlight what scence needs to be deleted and press delete. To open affects you right click and it opens, you can uses transitions. Th make things alittle darker, you Click T,Type something in,Drag where want it to go,andwait for the green bar to dissapper, and then change the color. in order to put music, you must get it from youtube.or an mp3 site,

Planning blog for Vans commercial

Our commercial is about Vans.

1) Props

The props that we will use in this commercial will be Vans shoe boxes, a skateboard, a Vans coupon, and Halloween decorations.

2) Costumes

The costumes that we use in this commercial will include Vans apparel. Specifically, Vans shirts, Vans hoodie, Vans shoes, a beanie, and chains for the actors playing on the Vans side. We will also include Converse shoes and shirt for the Converse-side actor.

3)Schedule

First, we will make the storyboard and the script for the commercial. After everyone learns their lines and places, we will begin filming our commercial in the senior patio. Continuing with the commercial on the next day, we will shoot extra takes of skateboard tricks for our commercial which will be featured at the end of the commercial. When we finish filming at the first location, we will then move onto our next location: the Media center steps. On the last day of this assignment, we will edit our commercial and put every shot in the order of our storyboard.

4) Location

The locations that will be used for our commercial will be the senior patio, specifically the steps and the tables. We will also film in the Media center steps, which is where our "Vans store" set will be.

5) Back Up Plan

So if it's raining,we will have to film inside the Media Studies classroom instead of the senior patio. Additionally, we will have to film our skateboard shots near the media center instead because we can still get outside shots, however we will still have a roof over us to not get wet. Also, if one of us who is acting is absent, we will have to change roles in the commercial and one of us would have to play someone else's part. Additionally, if our camera man is absent, we will have one of our actors film, while another actor takes their part.

Research blog

Our commercial is about Vans products. Some common conventions and codes in Vans commercials include skaters as actors. The target demographic for Vans include teens and young adults, which is why the actors in these commercials are also generally young adults or teens. These actors are typically athletic and often run or do skateboard tricks in the commercials. They also wear Vans shoes and Vans shirts or socks in the commercials. Vans commercials may also feature famous athletes or skaters to talk about the products. The actors are normally within a group of friends; however, some commercials include skaters by themselves.

Additionally, the location of these commercials are usually outside in skate parks or on the street. Typically, the lighting of these commercials are very bright due to the sunny weather of being outside. However, commercials that feature more close ups of the shoes tend to have darker lighting.

Lastly, common music found in Vans commercials include Rock or Upbeat music. Popular artists that make this type of music for Vans commercials are Avril Lavigne, Sik-K, and DJ, Mia Carucci.
